Where’s the Champagne?

Oh my lordy, if I ever say that sentence one more time- someone put me to bed!! Saturday arvo went over to a friend house for her breast cancer afternoon tea. It was such a great time, and she raised over $1000!

However, way too much champagne was consumed(ahem, by me mostly!) and I was not well sunday morning. But we had a fantastic time, prizes were won, auctions a plenty and champagne flowing freely…. until we ran out ( where’s my embarressed smiley emoticon?)

But hubby came and picked me up and all was well in the world. Drove up to Redcliff to Suttons Beach yesterday and being such a bad parent, didn’t quite put the sunscreen all the way down my son’s back. Poor little darling, but he had a great time!!!

Currently working on a brand new project for Diva Promotions and I’m pretty excited about this one!! Let’s just say it’s a directory style publication…..

We also went from a google page rank of 0, to 2 over the weekend!! Which is just fantastic!! All due to the report my wonderful copywriter did for me. She told me which keywords to put in, what writing to put on my site, and within 3 weeks, hey presto!! It worked!! Not bad for $125!!!

Wouldn’t mind these storms to continue- need to get my stroller legs working again- to work off all that champagne!!!

I’m stuffed!!!

I decided that we needed a new stroller so I went and bought one on Tuesday. Absolutely love it. Since Tuesday afternoon, I’ve lost 1kg!! I walk down and get the kids from kindy (get some strange looks from passing cars- they probably think I’ve forgotton something with an empty stroller!!)
We’ve also become good friends with a mum up the road a bit. Her son is a little bit younger than mine, but they play really well. We’ve both been taking the kids down the park and this morning we had playgroup- at the park again!! I’m stuffed!! My knees are hurting, but I’ve lost 1kg- and that’s what it’s all about. Isn’t it??

Diva Promotions has picked up another client- www.shoponline.net.au We are currently revamping their newsletter to include advertising spots, and the owner of the website is about to do a huge marketing campaign. Should be good- especially coming up to xmas- this will be our launching pad.

Completed my first media kit!! About to upload it to the site, so stay tuned and you can check it out. Will be doing one for each client that has a few advertising options, it makes it easier for them to decide!

My wonderful web designer- Kerrie from Ptolemy Consulting has been working on my new look website, and I really like what she has done. So Thankyou Kerrie! The new site will be up and running as soon as I can make up my mind- and stick to it!

Where’s the Water???

After being stuck at home these past two weekends finishing the carport, I decided that on Sunday we were getting out. So I looked up on the brisbane website about kids parks around. They had a update box that said the water was turned back on at the Wynnum park, due to water tanks being installed.
Fantastic!! They have these blue whales that you can climb up and all over, and they are all connected to a timer. Water spurts out their blowholes according to this timer, so the kids have a ball running from whale to whale trying to sit on the blowhole before the water comes out!!
So, we pack the kids up, put their rashi shirts on, boardies for Hayden and pile into the car. Finally get a parking spot, look over to the whales and….
“Where’s the water??” I hear from the backseat. I turn around to find Hayden near in tears cause it’s still turned off. Turns out, that the tanks aren’t even completed yet! Not happy jan.

So, off came the rashis and normal clothes were put on, and they went about playing in the swings and other stuff etc. Got some fish and chips, went for a walk on the jetty, nearly got blown off and came back home.
Watched the V8’s race at Indy- feeling for Whincup at the moment!! He was doing so well!!

Work is piling in the door for Diva Promotions which is great, but now comes my real test of time management!!! With only one full day to work on my business now, I have to take the times of concentration when I can get them.

Dad is only just recovered from his last bout of Chemo, and is booked in again next week. Hopefully he only has one more after that and we will see how he goes. Still not sure if they are coming up at xmas or we are going down yet- it’s a matter of seeing how he is and what they want to do.

Only 8 weeks left!!! Ho Ho Ho…..

Ho Hum…

Well another day, same same! Getting a bit sick of this house- in desperate need to get out and away from the darling kidlets for a while!!

Went to a networking meeting yesterday for the Kitchen Table Network. They are a local group, and had a turnout of around 50 which wasn’t too bad. The location was glorious- we were at a restaurant with open sides and looked over the water out to Stradbroke Island. The sound of the water lapping against the restaurant was very calming.
I had a great time- didn’t meet a whole lot of people as no one really got up off their table!! So being a first timer, I just acted the sheep. But the scones were delish!!…

Hubby has it good at the moment. Helped a friend yesterday renovate their bathroom, and install their bathtub- got home after 9;00pm and the kids were in bed asleep. Left this morning to go to Byron Bay for a friends wedding. Staying the night down there somewhere- won’t be home until tomorrow sometime. Yet, again, I’ve got to look after the kids. But my weekend is next weekend when a friend is having a breast cancer afternoon tea with Pink Champagne! This time, we are having Dad’s taxi!!!

Work is getting a bit more full on. Currently I’m designing my first ever media kit for a client, and have a couple backed up after this one. My awesome web designer is pulling her hair out for me, and probably not going to answer any more of my emails anytime soon.. Thanks Kerrie from Ptolemy Consulting- you’re a gem!!

Am thinking of signing up for the Accor Advantage card which gives some amazing discounts on hotels and resorts around the country- we desperately need to get out more often!!!
Unfortunately we are unable to visit my family at present, Dad is going through Chemo for asbestos related cancer, and is a bit too sick to have us, and Hubbys folks just bought a hobby farm, and are too wrapped up in fixing that up for their stock to have us visit.

Oh, how I wish we had a babysitter…..

Blog Number 3!!

Ok, so this is blog number 3 and I still cant get it right!! I’m having some serious issues with the ftp path- basically I have no idea what that is, and how to get my blog to the right spot!

Not to worry, I’m sure I’ll figure it out- one day!

Anyway, welcome to my blog!(for the third time!) This is meant to be a place where I can share my thoughts on day to day life with my kids and hubby, plus some sneak previews of what I’m working on for my business- Diva Promotions.
