Finally – A new Website for Diva Promotions!!
Well, it’s been a long time coming, but Diva Promotions finally has a new, functional website.
It originally started with a joomla template, but that didn’t quite work out the way it was supposed to. With my web programmer on a well deserved month’s holiday, it was up to me and my resources to see how to fix it.
What surprised me the most was that no-one wanted to take my money and fix it! They just didn’t want to touch joomla. Some people tried to give me free advice, but the site was way too far gone for that.
I ended up getting a ‘joomla expert’ in the UK to fix one problem, which of course then caused other problems to arise!!
I gave up a week trying to fix it, and then threw my hands in the air and put my site onto Wordpress. Take a look – http://www.divapromotions.com.au and let me know what you think.
Hats off to Ally from Web Graphics By Email who created the concept design for me. She worked with me tirelessly changing bits and pieces here and there and not complaining at all! http://www.webgraphicsbyemail.com.au Thanks Ally!!!
Please put some comments below about the site, and if there is any fuction that doesn’t quite seem to be working, or if you notice anything out of the ordinary- please tell me!!!

Wow! I need to learn about wordpress! Well done Emma. I have been fiddling with straight code which works reasonably well if you know what your doing but I want to achieve more and yours is the format I’m after. I’m off to learn now …. Cheers Karen
Looks great Emma. My website is Wordpress too so I know how great it can be. There’s something very empowering about being in control of your own content and not having to pay someone to change a full-stop in the wrong place.
I know nothing about Joomla, but have heard several people complaining about how it didn’t work for their site.
The site is clean, concise and beautiful. Well done!
Johanna
Thanks Karen. I actually had the design created by Ally from WebGraphics By Email and then just fiddled around with it all…for a week or so!!
Let me know how you go and if you need any help!
Hi Emma,
The site is fabulous and your post came at the right time for me – trying to get a website up and going and having a nightmare! Going to go with Wordpress!!
Congrats on yoursite and thanks for your wonderful warmth which shines through in everything you do (not to mention your smarts!)
Cheers
Ginny
Thanks for your kind words Ginny. I wish you luck with your wordpress endevour and contact me if you get stuck! (I kinda forgot to mention that I ended up having to post on the wordpress support forums!) so I did end up learning quite a bit!
Hi Emma!
Your post made me laugh because I have a client who uses Joomla and I really don’t like it! He was convinced by someone that Joomla was the way to go but I find it so limited and often very very frustrating. I dont put my hand up for other Joomla jobs either now!
Well done for persisting and then finding a solution for yourself. It’s definately a talent of yours to get out there and make things happen!
Well done and take care
Rosie.
Well done Emma. I can’t believe you turned the conceot into a wordpress site. Great idea..it looks amazing too.
